This was the third year the local gay community demanded that the city council in my town allow the vaunted pride flag to fly on the city flagpole during pride month (spearheaded by the lesbian councilwoman). No other group has ever asked for this privilege. After enough citizens heartily objected for the first two years, it was finally denied each time. Again this year the issue was raised. The council members simply refused to consider the request. Case closed.
