If we worried more about functional and non-functional rather than sane and insane, we’d be on the right track. I interact with all kinds of people that the establishment would diagnose as “on the spectrum” or “cognitively impaired” who manage to accomplish all sorts of things that make the world a better place. I also know a lot of folks who hold degrees and appointments and are well respected and esteemed by society who do virtually nothing except eat and talk and are unable to manage even the most basic tasks required for a human being.
Between the two I much prefer the former to the latter even though they are almost ignored while the non-producers earn huge salaries and are treated like royalty.
Great summary of the situation. Just my observation, but smaller companies do a better job of recognizing and rewarding the productive employees, largely because there is more immediate financial feedback if a bad decision is made (the small companies that don’t do this usually cease to exist).
In larger companies, the actions of a given employee are so far removed from the actual profitability that there is no real consequence for poor performance. This leads to bad HR policies and an increasing number of incompetent managers making it harder and harder for productive people to get things done (and so many began to leave).
Eventually all of the bad decisions come home to roost but there is no one left who knows how to handle the problems. At that point the company enters into financial trouble, and the death spiral of layoffs and bankruptcy begins.
Large companies rarely survive more than 50 yrs despite having massive financial resources, and I have long wondered if all of this could somehow be prevented.
My experience also, give me somebody with common sense every time.

Question for those of you using Brave browser. Do you find that it is necessary to reload websites to get all images and content to load? I have turned off shields for these sites to no avail.

Ive been using brave a couple or so years now. The links to X sometimes pop up in TBP, sometimes I need to click to go to x and view.
on FF, most times the vids and links come up , sometimes I click and I get a black screen, then when I exit out of the link, it appears in the feed.
FF comments frequently reload, I think that might be a device memory/resources issue.

I think I’ve been hearing the mantra “this is election will be the most important election in American History” since like the ’92 or ’96 election. I have no faith in in the election process due to the squeals of both parties regarding election integrity. Nor do I have faith in either party to govern in the interests of the American people.
