Education Nightmare: Baltimore & Chicago Public Schools Spend, Spend, Spend As Test Scores Drop

Via ZeroHedge

Baltimore City and Chicago Public Schools are spending taxpayer monies like there’s no tomorrow, yet math and reading test scores are shockingly low. Radical leftists, who are embedded in these school systems, along with the officials in City Halls in these respective imploding metro areas, have ideals and beliefs not rooted in reality. Their progressive agendas have failed the youth and also unleashed a tidal wave of crime and chaos.

These are not new problems for crime-ridden Baltimore City and Chicago. The school systems in these metro areas have been failing the nation’s future generations for years. Still, it’s only now becoming absolutely insane that woke leftists are continuing to run these education systems into the ground.

Take, for instance, Chicago. Data from the non-profit Illinois Policy shows education spending has surged 97% since 2012, but student proficiency in reading has declined by 63% and by 78% in math for grades 3-8.

Since 2012, spending has increased by 97%, but student proficiency in reading has declined by 63% and by 78% in math for grades 3-8. With the costs of the demands outlined above – which represents only a fraction of CTU’s latest demands – annual spending is set to triple compared to 2012 levels. -Illinois Policy

“Chicagoans rightfully concerned about the futures of their children – and their wallets – should sign up to make their voices heard,” Illinois Policy wrote in a report

In Baltimore, investigative journalist Chris Papst of Fox45 News’ Project Baltimore has been uncovering massive fraud in the school system, from grade rigging to other corruption that extends to the Maryland State Superintendent of Schools.

Papst’s latest report reveals a trend strikingly similar to that of Chicago’s:

Baltimore City Schools continues to get more funding, but new numbers show student achievement is going in the wrong direction.

Project Baltimore looked at the most recent numbers, which show less than half of last year’s ninth graders were on track to graduate in four years.

The report continued:

According to recently released City Schools data, analyzed by Project Baltimore, just 40.8% of last year’s ninth graders, or less than half, are on track to graduate in four years. That means, nearly 60% of all ninth graders in Baltimore City last year were not on track to graduate high school on time.

That is a significant drop from the 2021-2022 school year, when according to projections, 56.5% of City Schools ninth graders were on track to graduate in four years, which was the lowest in the state.

City Schools has a $1.7 billion budget, all of it coming from taxpayers. And while the funding has increased, enrollment has decreased by nearly 9,000 students since 2014. In other words, City Schools is getting more money to educate fewer students.

Here’s what users on X had to say in response to Papst’s post:

The nation desperately needs major education reforms from former President Trump should he return to the White House. After Democratic cities failed generations of poor students, some have argued for more drastic solutions, including state intervention.

The CTU is also attempting to take over the city government in Shitcago. Their overpaid semi-literate “teachers” want to make city policies on everything, with every idea being from Mao or Marx. They want teachers to be provided houses and the more insane ones would like abortion clinics in the schools. I believe the figure I heard was they want around $50 BILLION for teachers over the next decade and many of these shitheads cannot read or do math themselves.
Shitcagos new Mayor, the Communist mono del portico with the bird hairdo, was the President of the teacher’s union. He is a total moron. It was recently revealed the city paid $30,000 in hair and makeup for this asshole in the last year. WTF?

The CTU went on strike twice over the last decade or so, and got pretty much everything they wanted – they’ll soon strike yet again ,and come away with whatever else they demand. They truly believe they’re more valuable than first responders, who’ve had a helluva time getting their contract demands met compared to CTU.

My old company was involved in the CTU elections over the last decade, and I was one of the lucky ones sent to retrieve some of the ballots. There are still some good teachers, not many, but there’s a lot more that are “entitled” (read: NIGGERS) that can’t be bothered to do even the minimum.

Brandon wasn’t the CTU President, but an activist/organizer in the organization.

You are not black pilled enough…….the teachers know its all a fraud (you can’t teach low IQ kids much of anything)….the entire structure is a money making grift for Dems and a club to beat the GOP with………They wouldn’t dare to actually solve the problem….that would cut the gravy train. They spend countless hours thinking up new grievance modules to justify MOAR MONEY. And lurking in the background are the filthy small hats agitators. These agitators use the flow of funds to attack the US in general and GOP specifically…….a win-win for the left.

I recall an article in Spring, 2022, about a mother of a child due to graduate from a Baltimore school — one of the schools you get into by choice, not chance — with a 0.37 GPA. The mother was genuinely furious at this … her son had passed only 3 courses in those 4 years and had something like 270 absences over the 4 years (literally almost half of the school days). She raised enough of a ruckus that the school put her son’s graduation back by one year — to 2023 — as if that would produce any significant results.

More recently, an article talked about how students from 13 of Baltimore’s high school 2024 graduating class had zero — ZERO — students performing at grade level in math or English. In fact, most were performing at only a 3d to 6th grade level …

How to overcome this is an enormous challenge … made all the worse by the national teacher unions that always want more, more, more … and provide less, less, less …

Time to give out vouchers to be used anywhere the parents wish … time to try something other than what we’ve done for the past 100+ years …

Maybe there were patterns emerging or induced by the peculiarities of “social progress” that were exploited by controlling academia to conduct psychological operations toward a desired outcome. How many teacher’s colleges would it take to influence a majority of Americans? Probably not that many. And progress could always be made to clean up the small colleges.

They know what they are doing to their students; just want more money and power, to hell with student well being. Overall, the education system is producing the desired effect.
I do know a couple of individual teachers who are good, decent humans who try to actually try to teach young children in spite of all the BS.

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Project Baltimore is pressing state leaders for answers after school test results were removed from the state’s website, redacted, and then reposted.

Fox45 News went to a recent Maryland Board of Education meeting to speak with State Superintendent Mohammed Choudhury about the test scores, which were taken down after we began reporting the results.

But when Project Baltimore approached Choudhury with questions, the superintendent walked to a nearby door, closing and locking it behind him.

No surprise school test scores are more sensitive than a Joe Biden interview tape. Both need classification in a Top Secret Compartmentalized handling facility. BTW what happened to proficiency tests for teaching credential? Sad or significant to have a Mohammed rather than Hymen as superintendent of states education?

How about a graph showing the increase in personnel costs compared to student achievement. Some schools have a 1:1 ratio of administrators to teachers, thanks to the DOEd’s report requirements.

Student achievement may be going down, but the teachers have gold plated retirement plans.

When you go into neighborhoods in cities with large black populations — which motivated and more capable blacks have abandoned for the suburbs – the mean IQ drops well below the national black mean of 85, to below 80. So what you have is a mean that fits well within the range clinically deemed to be borderline retarded (70-85 IQ). We will continue to pour billions of dollars of educational interventions into these areas, and they will continue to go down the drain, because no one has the moral courage to risk their social and professional status (and probably their physical safety) to state what the scientific literature and decades of experience plainly do: That such efforts are doomed to fail.

It’s not just ‘motivated and more capable blacks’ that have moved into the suburbs … President Trump’s predecessor expanded HUD housing vouchers far into the suburbs saying he wanted them more black … and this is the mess we’ve got. Couple this with the UN mandates that he also signed that put US under the UN boot regarding housing densities in the suburbs and you’ve got the situation that has been expanding across the US for more than a decade — more 3d world and blacks moving into suburbs thanks to tax breaks that cities grant for low income housing.

The over-indoctrination of students coupled with the lowering of intellectual rigor of their education were my animus to homeschool. So many problems in this country could be resolved by the application of critical thought.
