QUOTES OF THE DAY

It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. So each time you visit the site, I would ask that you consider the value that you receive and have received from The Burning Platform and the community of which you are a vital part. I can't do it all alone, and I need your help and support to keep it alive. Please consider contributing an amount commensurate to the value that you receive from this site and community, or even by becoming a sustaining supporter through periodic contributions. It is no secret that the founding fathers held a tremendous disdain for the common man. Hence the formation of a Republican government, and not a democratic one. The founding fathers were titleholders and elitists, no doubt,
While the argument of a coup d’état is firmly made, consideration of alternative outcomes is warranted.
Many of the founding fathers held the not unreasonable fear of predation from European powers.
13 separate, confederated colonies would have balkanized and been consumed by European powers in short order. While the articles of confederation may have accommodated agreements between the states, It did little to assure unanimity of protection of the continent against empirical powers, of which there were many at that time. Any agreements amongst the states would have been a messy, time consuming, sordid affair.
The constitution that we endure under today is a result of that concern. By creating the umbrella of the constitution, the 13 colonies quickly became stronger than the sum of their parts.

Quaint is the notion of 13 agrarian states coexisting unmolested by foreign powers without the unifying authority the Constitution brought to bear. That courts and taxes came with the deal is unfortunate, but understandably necessary to maintain some semblance of unanimity.
230+ years of hindsight allows for all sorts of intellectual arguments to be made.
History is a puzzle made of many, many pieces. The examination of separate pieces makes for scintillating, intellectual discussions, but the reality, as faced by our forefathers, dictated the decisions they made.

He participated in a coup-d’etat against America. Lack perfection? Try engaged in premeditation. 1/3 of the men at Philadelphia refused to go along with the 1787 steal. Try some consistency of law and justice, or shut up.
