There are two judgements. One is particular; your specific works and their results. The second is general; how you fit in in the creation or destruction of societies – are you of the city of God or the city of Man.
The first one decides your eternal fate. Bliss or Hell. The second is recognition of your role to good or bad, and is displayed for all to see for the Glory of God and His Providence. If you are of the sheep, you are rewarded first, then glorified for your faithfulness, long-suffering, and your merits. If you are of the goats, you are condemned for your sins, then are mocked and derided for your unfaithfulness, weakness, and malice.
But that is only personal judgements. Societies, governments, corporations, and other civil organizations cannot be judged in eternity. They must suffer their judgements here on earth. Their members are forced to cooperate in this, according to their station in life, not according to their guilt. (The evil often gain in this life, only to lose in the next. The good often lose in this life, only to gain in the next. The interplay between the two can affect everyone, for good (sacrifice) or for bad (artifice).)
We are now seeing the punishment of societies for their collective crimes. No one, not the good nor the bad, will escape. It will only get worse.
Bad people, you have nothing left for you but despair or repentance.
Good people, be humble, accept your faith as God’s overwhelming love for you and His working in your life.
May His will be done.
