Sept. 1st is opening day for blue grouse and doves here in CO.
Just arrived home.
I haven’t missed one in 30 years. Got my limit of grouse outside
Vail Friday and went down valley for doves today near Silt.
Great 2 days. And great eating tonight and tomorrow.

I’ll be On Nantucket Island, though not Florida.
Snook are scarce there. Met my wife there, married there,
made one son there we think, and had them all baptized there.
Been going there yearly since a serendipitous painting trip in 1980,
where I met the little lady. Back when it was a quiet little
out of the way place no one knew about. Now it’s become like my beloved Aspen in the late 60’s’s when I grew up skiing there and it was not a “thing”.
No longer a quiet little old mining or whaling town, but a status driven stylish destination for complete assholes. I really miss what both places were when
they were just fun places that were hard to get to.
But I still return because both are such a huge beloved part of my life. And the fishing is still the best there and the skiing is still world class here.
may your vacation be just and exhilarating…relaxing and bountiful..

of surf fishing! Blues, bass, albies, and bonito.
