We had a microwave like that at work. We named it Chernobyl. We found out the hard way that it could cook the popcorn in less than two minutes (our old one took five minutes). We had it for years until the aliens repossessed it.
Moved into a new house with a gas stove and an 1800 Watt microwave. Standard power is 1100-1200 Watts. Every meal is an adventure in Algebra!
