Do we have a choice? Millions use Twitter and will continue using it. Me, probably never, so I really don’t care. If Millions share truth and it impacts positively, in the long run, people cannot unhear or unread what they have read, so all good, regardless of what Elon does. Does anyone think that the totalitarians who run our government don’t already know where everyone who still supports freedom and liberty lives? Do we honestly think they will wait for ‘evidence” from tweets if they feel threatened?

Doctors say ‘fossil fuel addiction’ kills, starves millions

Extreme weather from climate change triggered hunger in nearly 100 million people and increased heat deaths by 68% in vulnerable populations worldwide as the world’s “fossil fuel addiction” degrades public health each year, doctors reported in a new study.

Worldwide the burning of coal, oil, natural gas and biomass forms air pollution that kills 1.2 million people a year, including 11,800 in the United States, according to a report Tuesday in the prestigious medical journal Lancet.

“Our health is at the mercy of fossil fuels,” said University College of London health and climate researcher Marina Romanello, executive director of the Lancet Countdown. “We’re seeing a persistent addiction to fossil fuels that is not only amplifying the health impacts of climate change, but which is also now at this point compounding with other concurrent crises that we’re globally facing, including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the cost-of-living crisis, energy crisis and food crisis that were triggered after the war in Ukraine.”

Karl Denninger responds….

Without carbon-based fuels which are the feedstock for fertilizers, not counting the use of carbon fuels for sowing seed, tilling fields, harvest and transportation, all of which absolutely rely on said carbon based fuels and cannot be deferred when they need to be done because the sun isn’t out or the wind isn’t blowing right now, that is just accounting for fertilizers made from same, yields would drop by at least a quarter and perhaps by as much as half, especially in equatorial and European regions. Here in the United States the reduction is estimated, on a conservative basis, somewhere around 30%.

In other words if you think a few million people being “screwed” by carbon fuel use is bad somewhere in the neighborhood of two to three billion people would die of hunger if we were to stop using carbon-based fuels and that’s just the fertilizer, not accounting for the use of carbon fuels (and the machinery they power) to sow, till, maintain, harvest, transport and keep safe for consumption (you know, refrigerate) said foods.

It is entirely reasonable, in fact, to believe that half the human population of the planet would die of hunger if we were to cut off carbon-based energy when you get to both fertilizers and the impact on mechanized farming and transportation, excluding direct deaths by lack of heat sources in the winter months.

That’s four billion human souls.

Against four billion humans the 1.2 million they claim are killed is about 0.03% of the damage that would be done by cutting off carbon.

Without diesel, fertilizer, and Rednecks, American food production would drop 90%, not 30%, and the 10% produced would not make it to cities. Bon appetite liberals.
