Not in this day and age. I’m not letting doctors touch my body, nor cut me open.

^^ Initial reaction. Would need more info to really decide. Like…who would be the recipient? And…can a trusted vet perform the operation??

Not in this day and age. I’m not letting doctors touch my body, nor cut me open.

This was exactly my attitude. Right up until the severe pain started. Since that time they have sliced, diced, probed, prodded, scanned and injected me. And you know what? I’m OK with that. They seem to be helping me. The fact that they were unwitting accomplices in a mass murder scheme no longer bothers me.

Unwitting? Not sure I’d use that word.

Sounds like you were in a desperate situation where you needed them. Lots of people are. Not judging. There are still some good doctors out there…just need to find them.

But…she is talking about a voluntary procedure. That’s different.

Exactly AA. For my gal with a trusted surgeon, in a second.

But there’s several reasons why my DL does not have me as an organ donor.

The question is much too general.

Would I donate a kidney once I’m dead? Yes. Once dead, they can take any damned part of my body they want.

.
.
Would I donate a kidney while still living? Depends.

— My sons? Without a nano second of doubt. Other immediate family members? Again, it depends … mostly on whether or not they are; A) Covidiots, or 2) Libfuks.

— Non family members? Probably not. Unless they were a really really close friend, for a long time, and I’m in the will.

Not true. Monitoring and administering of anesthesia and other routine medications during organ harvest of a brain dead donor is the same as for a live person.

Not true! They administer a paralytic not an anesthetic. They don’t want you twitching and jerking as they remove the organs. Also the terminology “brain dead” is completely fictional and was created in 1967 just so they could start doing heart transplants. It was decided at a meeting at Harvard University. There have never been any scientific studies whatsoever regarding so-called “brain death”.

Stay far away from the “health care” business.

(Take care of your own heath because the medical system is totally fucking broken. Need a kidney? Order one from the Internet – certain governments and non-governmental organizations would love to sell you one taken from slaves and prisoners. )

To my wife in a dire emergency, but totally in agreement with AA.

Feel lung donation may be more germane. For a potential recipient. Actually know a gentleman that only has 1. Was a chain smoker, cancer.

10+ years in, saw him EAT a Poison Ivy leaf. Said it conferred immunity, did it every spring since taught as a lad. Had just turned 89 when i talked to him mid April. Said he would have to pass on gathering Morels this year.

I suppose it would have to do with the recipient. I volunteered one of my kidneys for my brother when it looked like he would need one quick. I was a suitable match.

In the 70s, my oldest brother had a bad infection in his kidneys from a severe case of acne. That’s what the doctors told us, at least. He was far from the family when it happened. They removed 1 and half of his kidneys and left a massive autopsy style stitch scar about 3 feet long that ran from front to back. The family consensus was that they felt free to experiment on him as he was alone. He still has scars on his chest from the cigarettes he was allowed to smoke in bed while tripping on Demerol. The smokes tend to fall on your chest when you nod off in bed.
Canada’s medicare system at its finest.
All of our requests for his medical records were denied to us. We were told it had to be requested by a doctor. Our family doctor stepped up and was also denied. Lawyers could do nothing against the machine. We still do not know what happened.
I wouldn’t hesitate to volunteer for family.
I would NEVER volunteer for the Medical Crime Racket we call ‘Healthcare’.

cheers

I’ll take Mr. Stucky’s view.

Family, for sure.

Context is my dad died at 55yo waiting for heart transplant but I’m not a donor on drivers license.

I see first hand what donors bodies look like when returned from CORE and what a freaking mess they are to embalm and dress.

Life savers, yes, but I couldn’t do that to a loved ones body.

Dec 26, 2021Jimmy Kimmel is an American television host and comedian who has a net worth of $50 million. Jimmy Kimmel is probably most famous for hosting the late night comedy talk show .

Nothing like having someone worth $50 million crying on tv about his son’s healthcare expense.

I’m sure he was able to afford the “gold” level obamacare plan, with the appropriate subsidies, of course.

A friend of a friend had a cadaver graft/transplant. Unscreened for pathogens. Lyme, in this case. Plus, speaking of screens, some sort of “mesh” was involved. You know that song, The Monster Mesh? She has been wrecked & contending, for years, ever since. Strong woman, completely diverted, “taken off the board.” Divide ~ vivisect ~ & conquer.

Fuck these people. (And I’ve been hospitalized, in about as much pain as it is possible to experience. Again: Fuck these witting nitwits.)

Family, without question. Probably strangers too. Everyone can have whatever when I’m dead.

The part that bothers me about transplants is that everyone makes $, sometimes obscene amounts, except the donor of family of the deceased.

If they legalized selling organs there wouldn’t be a shortage. You could by them on Ebay or Amazon. J/k.

You know how they could get more donors – from deceased people – they could pay the estate for the donation.

Instead, you are supposed to donate your organs with no reimbursement. However the doctor / hospital / drug companies get paid. Fuck them all.

Organ donation can only be accomplished by someone who’s alive with a beating heart. Because organs from a dead person are completely useless, they invented a new state of being called brain dead. When you donate an organ you are completely awake and alive and aware and can feel all of the pain as they cut the organs from your body.

Do you really want to be an organ donor?
http://www.renewamerica.com/columns/byrne/130108

Every organ for transplantation is taken from a living person with a beating heart, circulation and respiration. When the heart is taken for transplantation, the donor is killed. “Brain death” was concocted to get beating hearts and other vital organs for transplantation. A living body can become a dead body only by going through true death (L. mors vera); what then remains is a cadaver. A vital organ that occurs singly, e.g., the heart, cannot be transplanted from a cadaver. Donors must be living. Much information about these significant matters of life and death is kept from the public. What you do not know can kill you. Lack of informed consent is no consent. How much information were you given at the license bureau before you answered the question, “Do you wish to be an organ donor?”

Donated the $1? think it was on my tax form to the election whatever back in the day when i did my own, think it’s up to $3 or whatever you want to ‘give’ according to the tax prep magician, one of the minor reasons i married her. ONLY reason she even brings it up? KNOWS that i’ll laugh like a kamala. Stopped all that ’bout the time i changed registration to independent. (local elections) Some time ago. My aunt has Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and has been on the donor list for years (she actually found one, and went to the Mayo Clinic to have the operation, but a child needed it, so she lost out). The only reason I would ever donate a kidney would be for a sick child — and my aunt would not have accepted it anyway, once she found out the reason.

PKD is a very nasty disease; read about it from the Mayo itself: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/polycystic-kidney-disease/symptoms-causes/syc-20352820

PKD is a genetic disorder. My aunt passed the genetic flaw to her daughter, who is now 36. Just because you have the trait for something doesn’t mean you will get it — my grandmother was diabetic, so my father had a 50/50 chance of it but wasn’t. PKD seems to be a female-passed trait; my aunt has/had 5 brothers, and none of them has/had PKD.

I asked it because a friend is going through that decision right now. Both potential donor and recipient in their early 60s, married with adult children. Recipient on dialysis. They have been friends for 40+ years and are closer than some brothers are.

I said that, if it was me, I would not think twice if it was for my children. For my husband, I would do it, too, but think for 5 minutes (sorry dear), because it would put both parents of small children at risk. For my parents I would most definitely NOT, since they are in their 80s. Neither for strangers. For close friends….. also probably not.

I had the “organ donor” box checked on my driver’s license for decades, until I realized that organs were worth money, there was a wait list and I was creating an incentive for doctors to denote me “dead” before I actually was.
So I removed that designation. I’d give a kidney to one of my own kids. That’s it.

Hell no! As a retired surgeon, I’ve worked in several institutions that perform various transplants. In all that time, I saw ONE appropriate transplant, where a left liver lobe was transplanted into a three year old boy who experienced an undiagnosed form of liver failure. EVERY other transplant involved preference for a “disadvantaged” individual, a celebrity/“important person” who jumped the line (and paid lots of $), or some other gross violation of the transplant guidelines. Plus, many of the recipients were non-compliant with their post transplant regimen, and were getting their second, third, or fourth organ. The system is hopelessly corrupt, and is in desperate need of reform and oversight before anyone should consider donation.

I would donate to a specific person, probably. I will not sign as an organ donor, my family knows my wishes and they can approve once I’m dead (if there are usable parts, take them. I just want to be truly dead first.) I have relatives who are eating and drinking/drugging themselves to death-no kidney for them. I have relatives who do everything right, if you need a kidney, sure, I’ll be ready. Complete stranger? I’d need to know more.

Nope. My body has redundant systems for a reason. If nature wanted me to give up an organ it would have made damned sure another one would grow to replace it.

Foetunately I am not allowed to give blood due to potential exposure to BSE tainted meat in Bosnia in 95 and 96. Funny thing avout prion disease: no one knows the incubation period. Unlike the clot shot prion infections lmao.

My organs stay with me from the womb to the grave.

ZFG, out.
