The Purpose Driven Life

Guest Post by The Zman

An underappreciated aspect of human society is that humans in large communities need a set of common beliefs. Large society in this context means anything larger than the Dunbar number. Once you get to that number, law codes and a way to enforce them are a necessity. One tool to do this is a common set of beliefs held by most of the members. This provides a mechanism for those rules to become a habit of mind, a shared reality we would think of as culture.

THE FEDERAL RESERVE FOR DUMMIES

Submitted by GNL for Olde Reb

Olde Reb - I took the Liberty of submitting this to TBP since below the article it reads..."*This essay is not copyrighted. Feel free to distribute."

“What difference does an increase in the National Debt make? We owe it to ourselves.” virtually every congress-critter has declared. Such a paraphrased program gives the federal government/ congress purchasing power not previously available—to buy votes from home. Unfortunately, the inflation created dilutes the purchasing power and value of assets owned by individuals. The system also conceals the immense transfer of value to bankers, which has justified the intense subterfuge and arm-twisting necessary for the Fed’s creation—that this paper exposes. The inherent destructive forces, evidenced by historic Rothschild banking1 and mathematical analysis, are also identified.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY – “A Christmas Carol” is published – 1843

Via History.com

On December 19, 1843, Charles Dickens’ classic story “A Christmas Carol” is published.

Dickens was born in 1812 and attended school in Portsmouth. His father, a clerk in the navy pay office, was thrown into debtors’ prison in 1824, and 12-year-old Charles was sent to work in a factory. The miserable treatment of children and the institution of the debtors’ jail became topics of several of Dickens’ novels.

Year Zero

Authored (mostly satirically) by CJ Hopkins via The Consent Factory,

2020 was GloboCap Year Zero. The year when the global capitalist ruling classes did away with the illusion of democracy and reminded everyone who is actually in charge, and exactly what happens when anyone challenges them.

In the relatively short span of the last ten months, societies throughout the world have been transformed beyond recognition. Constitutional rights have been suspendedProtest has been bannedDissent is being censored. Government officials are issuing edicts restricting the most basic aspects of our lives … where we can go, when we can go there, how long we are allowed to spend there, how many friends we are allowed to meet there, whether and when we can spend time with our families, what we are allowed to say to each other, who we can have sex with, where we have to stand, how we are allowed to eat and drink, etc. The list goes on and on.

Terrorist Who Murdered 224 People Released From Prison Because of COVID-19

Guest Post by Simon Black

Are you ready for this week’s absurdity? Here’s our Friday roll-up of the most ridiculous stories from around the world that are threats to your liberty, risks to your prosperity… and on occasion, inspiring poetic justice.

Congressman Begs Goldman Sachs to Stay in New York City

News recently broke that Goldman Sachs may move its asset management division, with about $8 billion in annual revenue, from New York City to Florida.

In response, during an interview on CNBC, US Congressman from New York Tom Suozzi begged Goldman Sachs to not leave New York.

“First of all, let’s say to Goldman Sachs, please don’t leave us. We’re in a desperate time in New York right now and we need you, you’re important to us. We want you to stay.”

But Suozzi doesn’t think New York’s high taxes, destructive COVID lockdowns, and financial mismanagement are to blame for the exodus.

Instead, he blames the 2017 federal tax cuts, specifically the cap on SALT deductions which allowed state and local taxes to be deducted from federal taxes owed.

And in true Bolshevik politician fashion, Suozzi thinks rage and ridicule is the only way to solve the problem.

Suozzi said, “Anyone who contributes money to politicians who don’t support the reinstatement of the SALT cap, we’re going to start publishing their names.

Yes, I’m sure creating an enemies list will encourage more profitable companies and wealthy individuals to stay in NewYork.

Gov. Tom Wolf Threatens to Fine at Least 150 Pennsylvania Restaurants for Operating Despite Shutdown Orders

Via Breitbart

Patrons enjoy food and drink at The Brass Rail in Hoboken, N.J., Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020. The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases surged by almost 4,000 new cases, Gov. Phil Murphy said Tuesday, the highest increase in nearly seven months. The so-called second wave led Murphy this week to announce …

Pennsylvania, under the leadership of Democrat Gov. Tom Wolf (D), has threatened at least 150 restaurants with fines for operating after the governor again shut down indoor dining last week.

Last week, Wolf announced a set of mitigation strategies to curb the spread of the Chinese coronavirus, which suspends indoor dining at “bars, restaurants, breweries, wineries, distilleries, social clubs, and private catered events” until January 4, 2021. The order also prohibits private gatherings of more than ten people, though it excludes places of worship. However, it urges churches, synagogues, and mosques to “find alternative methods.” Additionally, outdoor gatherings are capped at 50, and businesses are prohibited from operating beyond 50 percent capacity.

The Holy Jab

Guest Post by Eric Peters

The Holy Jab is upon us.

More precisely, it is about to be forced upon us. Not by law, probably – that being both harder to do and easier to challenge. Rather, by economic means, via the “private” sector – which has become almost-indistinguishable from the “public” sector, i.e., the government.

Which isn’t accidental.

Governing by Rage and Ridicule

Guest Post by Simon Black

Back in July, Yale University began a critical study on COVID vaccines.

But there was an interesting twist to Yale’s study: scientists weren’t looking at the actual vaccine candidates; instead they were studying how to most effectively convince people to take a vaccine.

One of the things they tested, in fact, was how guilt, embarrassment, and negative social stigma could pressure people into taking a vaccine, even if they have doubts or concerns about it.

In other words, the study examined if shaming people would be an effective way to compel everyone to take a COVID vaccine.

The results of that study have not yet been reported. But the mainstream media and Twitter mob have already decided that shaming people is the best approach to vaccine compliance.

The Gyre Widens

Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

The mind-numbing weirdness of Joe Biden’s insertion into the election of 2020 — like the furtive groping of an intern in a cloakroom — only signals the Democratic Party’s reckless drive to self-destruction, dragging the republic over the edge of an abyss with it. How did this hollowed-out figure of a grifting old pol find himself pretending to national leadership, and in an historic moment of crisis that goes far beyond the mere wrecking of an election? Who wanted him there so badly, and why?
