Al Qaeda In Syria Changed Its Name And Now The US Is Arming Them

Submitted by Dan Wright via ShadowProof.com,

Though many scoffed when the Al Qaeda affiliate in Syria, Jabhat Al-Nusra, rebranded itself Jabhat Fateh Al-Shamthat cosmetic change was apparently enough to convince the US government to start sending them arms.

In the recent push by rebels in the city of Aleppo, Al-Nusra/Al-Sham took a leading role and was reportedly among the rebels groups who received US weapons. Those weapons will first be used to kill Syrian government troops and after that, well, who knows?

Many, if not most, of the rebel groups fighting the Syrian government are jihadist and few have any serious objection to Al-Nusra participating in their operations, especially given that Al-Nusra has proven to be one of the most effective groups on the battlefield. If Al-Sham and fellow Sunni jihadists prevail over Syrian government forces, a genocide will likely commence against religious minorities in Syria, starting with the Alawites and moving on to other Shiites.

Surprise: Gun ownership rises to 44% of all homes

Guest Post by Paul Bedard

After a steady decline in gun ownership in recent years, more homes are reporting having a weapon inside, according to a new survey.

Pew Research Center, in a poll on guns released Friday, showed that 44 percent of the country has a gun in the house. Some 51 percent don’t.

The survey firm didn’t break those numbers out for special attention in reviewing American attitudes about background checks, an assault weapon ban or other gun issues, but it shows a jump in ownership from the mid-30 percent found in other recent polls.

CBS, for example, had gun ownership to a low of 36 percent. Gun sales have been on a tear over the past year, giving support for growing household ownership.

Interesting, those with guns and those without don’t have major differences on some of the issues Pew surveyed, such as allowing gun ownership by those on no-fly lists.

Norway Builds a Wall, Because Migrants

Via Truth Revolt

nor

The left always complains that the United States isn’t more like Europe, particularly Scandinavia, and now the joke’s on them because Norway now plans to build a border wall to halt the flow of illegal migrants pouring in from Russia.

This “racist display of European white supremacy” will be a 600 foot-long steel fence stretching 11 feet high and will run from the Storskog border crossing on the Norway-Russia border. According to Lifezette, “5,500 migrants, primarily from Syria, came into Norway last year.”

Though some Refugee Welcome groups view the wall as “a very negative signal,” others see it as a much-needed remedy to an ongoing problem.

Just last year, nearly 23,000 migrants applied for refugee status in Norway, which dropped a whopping 95 percent in 2016 when the government put in place stricter border control measures.

“The gate and the fence are responsible measures,” Deputy Justice Minister Ove Vanebo told Reuters.

The Norwegian government predicts the fence will be finished sometime before this coming winter.

Hillary’s Parkinson’s Disease – True or False?

Guest Post by Martin Armstrong

I know this is the big rumor and there is probably something that is true for Hillary refuses to release her medical records. Wikileaks has release emails where her staff were investigating drugs for Parkinson’s disease. Her fall which clearly disrupted her vision was certainly no minor event. She is on blood thinners for a clot in her brain. However, what I can say is that all my direct sources have long said she is violent and acts out of anger not reason. She would often get mad at Bill and gave him a black-eye. She hit Secret Service staff and treated employees like dogs or slaves. Nobody I have spoken to has ever had a reassuring thing to say about her temperament to be president.

Jim Rogers Explains What He Is Doing Before “The Next Time The World Comes To An End”

Tyler Durden's picture

One week after RealVision brought us the latest Jeff Gundlach interview, in which the DoubleLine bond king explained why he is now “100% net short”, on Friday Grant Williams interviewed Jim Rogers, in which George Soros’ former partner (the two co-founded the Quantum Fund in 1973), is about as gloomy, warning “the next time the world comes to an end, it’s going to be a bigger shock than we expect.”

Nonetheless, since an interview talking about canned foods, radioactive fallout shelter and guns would be relatively brief, Rogers presents several non-traditional ideas, most notably as relates to various frontier markets he is looking at currently, as well as Russia, a market where he has notoriously been invested since the start of 2015 when he went long Russian stocks, and which recently – and very much under the radar – hit all time highs. So Rogers takes a well-deserved victory lap.

Misinformation Age

Guest Post by the Zman

In the olden thymes it was much more difficult to be misinformed than it is today, simply due to the fact that information flowed much more slowly that we see today. That meant stupid ideas and nonsense passed from person to person at the speed of foot, not the speed of light. Festus could truly believe that eating cow dung cured gout, but he was not at a university writing papers on it. Those papers were not being spread around the internet. He was simply boring his family with his crackpot ideas and maybe some neighbors.

The flip side of this, of course, is people were much less informed about the world than today for the same reasons. Literacy rates rocketed up with the advent of cheap printed material, but information still moved slowly. You can pack a lot of information in a book, but it still must be toted from one reader to another. It’s entirely possible that the newly literate of the 18th century were not much more informed about the world than the illiterate of the 15th century. Farmer John in colonial Virginia would know more about the Bible and local politics than Farmer Aethelred in the 15th century, but maybe not that much more.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“The state within a state is hiding mostly in plain sight.

The pressure to conform to an authority figure or peer group can cause people to behave in shocking ways.

It is not too much to say that Wall Street may be the ultimate owner of the Deep State and its strategies, if for no other reason than that it has the money to reward government operatives with a second career that is lucrative beyond the dreams of avarice— certainly beyond the dreams of a salaried government employee.

The corridor between Manhattan and Washington is a well-trodden highway for the personalities we have all gotten to know in the period since the massive deregulation of Wall Street.”

Is This Hillary Clinton’s Roadmap For America?

Tyler Durden's picture

As Conservative Review’s Jen Kuznicki explains, in 1993, the president of Wellesley College approved a new rule upon being contacted by Bill Clinton’s White House. The rule stated that all senior theses written by a president or first lady of the United States would be kept under lock and key. The rule was meant to keep the public ignorant about the radical ties of the first lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton, to the radical Marxist organizer, Saul Alinsky. The 92-page thesis was titled, “There is only the fight…: An Analysis of the Alinsky Model.” The thesis became unlocked after the Clintons left the White House and is now posted online.

After being ruled by Barack Obama, another Alinskyite, for 8 years, perhaps one might think the fact that the modern Democratic Party is completely taken over by Alinskyites is old news, but the connection between Alinsky and Hillary is special.

Hillary describes Alinsky as a “neo-Hobbesian who objects to the consensual mystique surrounding political processes; for him, conflict is the route to power.” Alinsky’s central focus, she notes, is that the community organizer must understand that conflict will arise and to redirect it and, as she quoted him in her thesis, be “…dedicated to changing the character of life of a particular community [and] has an initial function of serving as an abrasive agent to rub raw the resentments of the people of the community; to fan latent hostilities of many of the people to the point of overt expressions… to provide a channel into which they can pour their frustration of the past; to create a mechanism which can drain off underlying guilt for having accepted the previous situation for so long a time. When those who represent the status quo label you [i.e. the community organizer] as an ‘agitator’ they are completely correct, for that is, in one word, your function–to agitate to the point of conflict.”

Which Countries Are Damaged Most by Low Oil Prices?

Courtesy of: Visual Capitalist
Oil is by far the world’s most-traded commodity, with $786.3 billion of crude changing hands in international trade in 2015.

While low commodity prices can hurt any major producer, oil prices can have a particularly detrimental effect on oil-rich economies. This is because, for better or worse, many of these economies hold onto oil as an anchor for achieving growth, filling government coffers, and even fueling social programs.

If those revenues don’t materialize as planned, these countries turn increasingly fragile. In the worst case scenario, an extended period of low oil prices can cause the fate of an entire regime to hang by a thread.

What Life Will Be Like After an Economic Collapse

Via Survival Sullivan

If you have been waiting for a public announcement or news headline to let you know that an economic collapse has begun, you are in for the surprise of your life. If history in other countries and in Detroit, Michigan is any indication, there won’t be an announfcement. An economic collapse tends to sneak up on a city, region, or country gradually over time. In some cases, the arrival of an economic collapse is so gradual that most people living in it aren’t even aware of it at first.

Things just get gradually worse, often so gradually that people and families adjust as best they can until one day they actually realize that it’s not just their home or their neighborhood that has been hit so hard financially, it’s everyone. By that time, it’s often too late to take preventative action.

In March of 2011, Detroit’s population was reported as having fallen to 713,777, the lowest it had been in a century and a full 25% drop from 2000. In December 2011, the state announced its intention to formally review Detroit’s finances. In May of 2013, almost two years later, the city is deemed “clearly insolvent” and in July of 2013, the state representative filed a Chapter 9 bankruptcy petition for Motor City. Detroit became one of the biggest cities to file bankruptcy in history.

Hillary’s Corruption Knows No End

White House Hillarys Den of ThievesThe revelations about Hillary are never ending. Even Donald Trump who admits buying politicians donated $100,000 to Hillary’s Foundation back in 2009. While others were handing her tens of millions to get deals from the State Department, with a token $100,000, Trump was obviously just putting his name on the list for influence as he has admitted. But Hillary is really the poster child for everything that is wrong in Washington. This is politicians just in your face with corruption going wild. The fact that everyone I speak with behind the curtain knows Hillary has always been for sale, demonstrates that they are sanctioning her running for president implying they too are anything but honest.

A Thousand Balls of Flame

Guest post by Dmitry Orlov

“Russia is ready to respond to any provocation, but the last thing the Russians want is another war. And that, if you like good news, is the best news you are going to hear.”

A whiff of World War III hangs in the air. In the US, Cold War 2.0 is on, and the anti-Russian rhetoric emanating from the Clinton campaign, echoed by the mass media, hearkens back to McCarthyism and the red scare. In response, many people are starting to think that Armageddon might be nigh—an all-out nuclear exchange, followed by nuclear winter and human extinction. It seems that many people in the US like to think that way. Goodness gracious!

But, you know, this is hardly unreasonable of them. The US is spiraling down into financial, economic and political collapse, losing its standing in the world and turning into a continent-sized ghetto full of drug abuse, violence and decaying infrastructure, its population vice-ridden, poisoned with genetically modified food, morbidly obese, exploited by predatory police departments and city halls, plus a wide assortment of rackets, from medicine to education to real estate… That we know.

We also know how painful it is to realize that the US is damaged beyond repair, or to acquiesce to the fact that most of the damage is self-inflicted: the endless, useless wars, the limitless corruption of money politics, the toxic culture and gender wars, and the imperial hubris and willful ignorance that underlies it all… This level of disconnect between the expected and the observed certainly hurts, but the pain can be avoided, for a time, through mass delusion.

This sort of downward spiral does not automatically spell “Apocalypse,” but the specifics of the state cult of the US—an old-time religiosity overlaid with the secular religion of progress—are such that there can be no other options: either we are on our way up to build colonies on Mars, or we perish in a ball of flame. Since the humiliation of having to ask the Russians for permission to fly the Soyuz to the International Space Station makes the prospect of American space colonies seem dubious, it’s Plan B: balls of flame here we come!
