The MSM ultra-liberal press is attacking John Stossel after he joined FOX news. Tough shit Rachel Madow and Keif Oberman. He'll kick your ass in the ratings just like everyone else. Stossel is a true libertarian. I'm gald to see FOX hire him.
John Stossel’s Health Care Special
ByABC finally ran John Stossel’s health care special on 20/20. I’m glad they did and hope they had good ratings.
The United States is the leader in medical innovation for a reason – freedom and profit. Take freedom and profit out of the equation and say good bye to new life saving techonologies. President Obama and the democrats plan to build a bridge to a single payer system. Barney Frank all but admitted it. They just don’t want you to notice until it’s too late.
Canada is a great place for health care if you happen to be an animal. If you’re human it’s not so great. The lucky ones can afford to come to the US when they need treatment and cannot wait. Where will they go if we follow in their foot steps. Where will we go?

Health care is a remedial service. It's got nothing to do with the equipment, products, drugs, supplies and other things. Even in Europe, UK, Asia, Canada where health care services are under various degree of public finance, their equipment, supplies and technologies are all in the private sector under free market competition. By the way, health related product technologies in Europe, Canada and Japan are equal, sometimes more advanced that of the US. Canadian health R&D is world class, and has a drug manufacturing industry large enough to supply own needs plus large exports. Japan makes the world's most advanced NMR scanners and export them around the world. Yes, the US also has very advanced technologies but it's by no means the only possible result of 'freedom and profit'. Freedom and profit is important, unless you become an ideologue wrapped in dogma. In which case you look like a damn Wall Street banker. Or worse, G W Bush.
"Canada is a great place for health care if you happen to be an animal. If you’re human it’s not so great."
Post this statement to Canada major newspapers & blogs. Your answers, I guarantee you, can be summarized as followed:
"America is a great place to be treated as sick animal. If you're a human, like the rest of the world, you want to get the hell out of the land of the sick."
But it doesn't matter what any other country says. They got their systems and there no public demand to change it. Any mention of America system and these countries tremble with fear. Their systems are not perfect of course, but they are sustainable, does a job good enough for the money they put it. The system is quite low-cost and efficient, a job America private system has failed. If a foreign public wants to improve service, all they need is to vote for an appropriate hike in funding. You get what you paid for in these lands because no politicians dare to corrupt the public health. Their health care system in fact forces their government to be especially responsible.
It is America that has the unsustainable system and is stuck not able to fix it. Everybody knows the system is cracking. One does not fix one's problems by attacking others. Suffice to say that the enemies of America are on the side of those who are fighting to keep the current system. They know it will help bankrupt their enemy and create a civil upheaval without firing a shot.

The Pelousy health care bill debate reminds me of the stereotypical remedy for everything-that-ails-you back in the blank and white 30's and 40's. They would line up all the school children and give them a healthy dose of cod liver oil whether they wanted it or not. The squirming and puckered faces of the children were dismissed because we'd be all so much healthier if we'd just take your medicine.
Well, I don't want to take my medicine, and reject the new proposed 2.5% tax on my income just for the right to take more cod liver oil.
