Jim,
What did we bet again? I think you wanted a NY homeless man as a servant. I don't remember what you put up. It wasn't so long ago that you were all piss-n-vinegar about your Philies. I would have loved to have seen your face when Johnny Damon stole 2 bases on 1 pitch!
Man, not only is the world ending with a 4th turning, but your are getting kicked in the teeth along the way.

I told you all, after Phillies won game one, the Yanks in 5 at 20 million to one. Goldman Sachs took the bet... Looks like after all they are going to have call Bennie and get another 0% loan, so they can pay me off.

Don't count your cheesesteaks before their hatched.
The greatest World Series comeback in history gets under way tonight.
I think if we hit A Rod 4 times tonight, everything will be OK.
If the Yankees win, you get to drive down to Philly and I'll buy you a Pat's or Geno's Steak. Your choice.

It's ova.

I particularly like A-Rod turning his back and posing like a runway model after getting hit. What a sissy. You either run to first (see Chase Utley) or charge the mound - not likely, as Blanton would have kicked his ass. A-Rod is one of the biggest douche bags in sports history. A drug using freak who left the wife and kids for a 50-year old skeezer.

Daniel, where is your compassion for the denizens of the City of Brotherly Love. Have you no empathy for these poor folks who have only had the joy of seeing a World Series championship twice in their lives? Most of the past century has been one of heartache and disappointment. This brings tears to my eyes. You need to be a more caring and loving person. It's not over until the fat lady sings. Please, let them enjoy their fantasies of the greatest comback ever. Is that so hard? Lee is a great pitcher and they'll probably win tonight. The comback fantasy will reach a fever pitch. Then we can rip their hearts out in the Bronx. And so shall it be. Amen.
It's not nice to gloat.
BUT IT SURE IS FUN!!!

These are good points Stuck. I like the Yankees business plan. When you suck, spend $500 million on 2 #1 starters and the best position player available. Excellent work by the development staff.
How about those Giants?
Robmu1
The Yankees spend 50% more than any other team. They can do this because of the New York market. If there was a salary cap, as there is in every other sport, the Yankees wouldn't be playing for the championship.

It's a sad state of affairs when this post gets more comments than my stop Obama's healthcare article. All is lost.
Robmu1
Of course all is lost. We have made peace with that and developed plans. Now we can concentrate on sports.
Daniel
Rob - keep in mind, the luxery tax the Yankees play with their profitable flagship team, funds the rest of the deadbeat teams out there.
Daniel
Rob, how is the beach house coming along? And where the hell is DP? I need to smack somebody around.

It ain't Howard. Will someone please tell Charlie Manuel that Raoul Ibanez is HURT and can't swing. (Compare him to Pedro Feliz against Chamberlain last night, among other examples. He can't get around on a fastball, or adjust to a breaking ball away.) Better to go with Ben Francisco or even Matt "Fat" Stairs than the abdominally-challenged Ibanez.

So I was in Ashburn Alley at the game last night (at Citizens Bank Park) and was talking to a 6'5 Yankees fan and his drunk friend who drove down from New York to watch the Yankees win the championship. I was telling them that Chase Utley was coming up, and that he could tie Reggie Jackson's home run record for the World Series. The big one goes all Staten Island on me, cursing and saying how much Utley sucks. Another Phillies fan jumps in to argue, and I step away to watch Utley, who homers. The place goes berserk. I walk back over to my Yankee friends, who have their heads buried in their beers, and yell over, "hey, guys, you saw the record!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Daniel/Stuck: remember 2004 on that glorious October night, with Kevin Brown on the mound, when the Yanks blew the 3-0 lead? Remember the pain?
This will be much, much worse.

It looks like the 3 days rest experiment could backfire. Pettite is an old man. 3 days rest. Game 7 is looking very good. Let's see how A Rod handles game 7 pressure. We know how Utley will handle it. Like a man.

I like this thread. You Philly fans are completely wrong, but at least you're all men about it.

Don't look under the bed, Yanks fans...it's 2004 under there!

Dear Philly Fans,
Tonight, the Yankees will rip your heart out.
Thanks for playing.

Best line of the day (from Hugh Hewitt on his radio program)
IF JON CORZINE WAS A BASEBALL TEAM, HE'D BE THE NEW YORK YANKEES.

I told the kids that the world is ruled by Yale graduates who inherit their wealth and get jobs that they don't have to work for, and that sometimes evil wins.

Daniel/Stuck - Congratulations on the Yanks victory - they were the better team this time. See you next year. The phils will have to figure out how the Yanks were able to develop all of those players (couldn't resist).
