As I read these articles it comes to mind the three (3) witches around the cauldren putting in a eye of newt, and a limb of frog, the wings of knats and the gallbladder of a black bear. Then while stirring chant "Double Double Toil and Trouble, Fire Burn and Cauldren Bubble"... A potion so toxic we will surely die even the fumes are overwhelming.
The wicked witch of the west is out doing herself as we sit and wait for what may. Now we are to be forced to pay $15K per year (I don't know if per person or per family) for shit for health care or go to jail. I thought we outlawed debtors prison? didn't we.
Top this off, the asshole that just won governor for NY has done a 180 and will now vote for the health reform "WITH" the public option.
And finally, it has come to light that the members of the House of Commons, oops I mispoke, Congress are made up of 231 millionares. Now I am not against millionares, nor billionares, but isnt the Congres supposed to represent the general makeup of the US citizenship? It's okay that the House of Lords, oh darn there I go again, Senate has those 7 - 10 figure net worth type people, because it always has, since our country's beginings.
Anyway, I value your input on this new caustic rule as put forth by the high council grand pubah of the House of dimwits.
We need to bend over and hold our ankles and "fart in thier general direction" or kiss our collective asses good bye.
Press Releases
Today, Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp (R-MI) released a letter from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail. The JCT letter makes clear that Americans who do not maintain “acceptable health insurance coverage” and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.
In response to the JCT letter, Camp said: “This is the ultimate example of the Democrats’ command-and-control style of governing – buy what we tell you or go to jail. It is outrageous and it should be stopped immediately.”
Key excerpts from the JCT letter appear below:
“H.R. 3962 provides that an individual (or a husband and wife in the case of a joint return) who does not, at any time during the taxable year, maintain acceptable health insurance coverage for himself or herself and each of his or her qualifying children is subject to an additional tax.” [page 1]

“If the government determines that the taxpayer’s unpaid tax liability results from willful behavior, the following penalties could apply…” [page 2]
- - - - - - - - - -
“Criminal penalties
Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual:
• Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.
• Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.” [page 3]
When confronted with this same issue during its consideration of a similar individual mandate tax, the Senate Finance Committee worked on a bipartisan basis to include language in its bill that shielded Americans from civil and criminal penalties. The Pelosi bill, however, contains no similar language protecting American citizens from civil and criminal tax penalties that could include a $250,000 fine and five years in jail.
“The Senate Finance Committee had the good sense to eliminate the extreme penalty of incarceration. Speaker Pelosi’s decision to leave in the jail time provision is a threat to every family who cannot afford the $15,000 premium her plan creates. Fortunately, Republicans have an alternative that will lower health insurance costs without raising taxes or cutting Medicare,” said Camp.
According to the Congressional Budget Office the lowest cost family non-group plan under the Speaker’s bill would cost $15,000 in 2016.

And their supposed to vote on this rag tomorrow?
If no one pays for health insurance, do they turn the US into one giant penal colony?
Wouldn't we all be in jail, getting free health care at that point?
Don't you just love it when common sense trumps liberal reality?
It's those pesky facts again, darn it!!

And what of the thousands, perhaps millions, of Mexicans, inner city blacks, and various Muslims and Asians who file no returns, can't read or write, and don't even have a SS number? They use drugs, make babies and hip hop the day away and generally don't give a flip about insurance, taxes, licenses, or any of the other petty details of modern society EXCEPT when they are sick. They will walk into an ER much as they do now and present themselves as needing care. Will Nancy P be there to arrest and fine them?

Thanks for posting. This is scary. We can't get rid of congress fast enough for all the damage they are doing.

One thing that is scary is to listen to my own friends state one thing, but then have an answer like "no one will put their neck out if they think it will get cut off". I find this very wrong and the base of where our country went wrong. Even in the face of true tyranny, we will just march like sheeple and pay our fine and go on with our lives watching reality tv.
I only think they will make an example of a few to scare the rest into obeying. Just like UBS giving away names of their lower 50-500 investors in switzerland. You can bet that Dianne finestein's name nor her husband is on that list, though you know they have accounts there, lichtenstein, in the Camens and anywhere else they can hide money.
It is window dressing to get more and more control. So a few will have to fall, but more will have to stand up to this and as Nancy Reagan used to say "Just say no!"
